Back to School Organization AZ TV Phoenix Channel 7

Interviewer:

All right. As we are still figuring out what to do about school we must understand one thing and that is no matter when or how school is going to happen. And that's where the Family Core is here to help with us getting back on school schedule. Ginger and James here with us. All right. You've got parents right now who are like, "Okay, it's getting there." It's like they've been listening to the news, it's not going to happen, it's going to happen, it's not going to happen, it's going to happen. And so they're going, "How do we get the kids back on schedule?" And first let's talk about what Family Core is all about and then we'll talk about getting them on a schedule.

Ginger Dellaripa:

Sure.

James Dellaripa:

Sure. Great. Well so, The Family Core is a software service and it's based on four principles, a secure chat feature, a geolocation service so you can keep track of everybody, an encrypted data storage service so you can keep track of all of your important documents like social security numbers, vaccination records, and it's all accessible on your mobile device. And then finally a calendar obviously color coordinated so you can keep track of each of your family members and everybody can get their tasks done during the day.

Interviewer:

Yeah. And this is so important right now because again we've seen that we're going to online. We're also going to no contact at school and that's where a lot of these parents, I mean I watched some of them, there's a school by me, drive by and they have a plastic bag with all the kids notes and stuff in it and they're handing them off. But with this service pretty much you can have them communicate with the teachers also. Is this what goes on?

Ginger Dellaripa:

Well, we can upload the school calendar so that everybody can stay connected and as far as the teachers they are handing out packets about two weeks in advance. We're hoping that we go to in-person school again quickly but just to stay organized we put the kids' school calendar in there with alerts and pushes so they know when to transition to the next class and that kind of thing. The Family Core is a solid, secure chat just for the family so that you can stay connected whether it be when you're in a blended situation it's hard to stay, both parents stay connected. So it's for the kids to connect with both parents, the parents to connect with each other and then all the information that one parent has the other parent will have access to through The Family Core.

Interviewer:

I like this. This is almost also for those parents who are co-parenting and they might be divorced, one might be another state who's usually coming in so they can't get away. So this is great for all of them to make sure that everyone is staying together.

James Dellaripa:

Absolutely.

Ginger Dellaripa:

Absolutely. And we've come up with four tips that we've given to family members and that we use on our own. We're parents of five, age ranges between two and 23 so we have a pretty crazy hectic schedule. So, we've come up with four tips that keep us organized. And James is a busy work professional and I work from home so we use The Family Core and that platform to stay organized between the seven of us and then any caretakers that are involved also they can be on our app also.

Interviewer:

Yeah, this is great. So how do people get into The Family Core scheduling here? How do they do it?

James Dellaripa:

So you can go to the familycore.com. That's our web page and you can sign up there. Or you can go to either one of the play stores, the Google and Apple stores and sign up there for the app.

Interviewer:

So, I like this and very easy to do.

Ginger Dellaripa:

It's $1.99 a month for your entire family core so how many people you need to add in there whether you have a large family like ours or you're only parenting one or two. So it's a $1.99 a month and so we just figured for less than $25 a year you can keep your sanity and stay organized.

Interviewer:

Yeah, I like this because then everybody is involved there especially since kids are on their phones they get the reminder too so that way if you're off doing something so.

Ginger Dellaripa:

Absolutely.

Interviewer:

Ginger thanks for coming in.

Ginger Dellaripa:

Hey, thanks for having us.

Interviewer:

Helping us get a schedule, getting us ready to go.

Ginger Dellaripa:

Stay organized. Yeah it's like less than two weeks aways so people get ready. [crosstalk 00:03:33]
